My name is Janice Leung and I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Currently my dream is to become a physiotherapist to help reduce the burden of people’s pains. I come from a varied background of sports growing up, while my university years have focused on competitive endurance sports with a stint in collegiate running and club rowing. Out of my own interests apart from team competitions, I have been exploring trail races, triathlons and olympic weightlifting.

Like the average person that may be a bit more prone to injuries than others, I have also gone through a plethora of injuries and have struggled with chronic pain. Today, I am thankful to have had the first-hand experiences so that I can use it as a strength to understand more of what it is like to deal with such pain and to help others better. One of my favourite Chinese proverbs says, “No man is a good doctor who has never been sick himself.”

Currently I am working as a personal trainer and as a student kinesiologist. Over the years, I have fallen in love with constant learning and growing within the fitness and health industry. The human body is incredible—so much can go wrong, yet so much can go right. Science keeps improving and changing, and there will never be an end to the new innovations to maintain and improve health. My hope is to contribute to the online community by sharing my thoughts and ideas.
